Four student groups choose a European destination for a long weekend trip.

We have been learning basics of German this term
So, we had a test on our knowledge.

We are an ELOS school

We are creating a Blog about Antigua-Luberri's ELOS project.

We want to promote an international dimension in our school, so to prepare students for the Europe of the future, a society in which integration and globalization are a reality.

So we decided to make a blog about the different aspects involved in the achivement of our goals. It will be translated in the three languages we use: Basque , Spanish and English. We added the adress to the shool website under the ELOS program link.

Here is the link have a look if you have time, it is interesting!

NGOs: Emaus & Tara project

TARA PROJECT

We wanted to work with NGOs, so we talked to "Emaus"  to make an activity together.
They proposed us to work on "Fair Trade", a Workshop on the subject. The process would take four class hours.
-The Work Plan

The first day, they explained us the basics of  "Fair Trade", on a second session they explained the details about an specific projec they were working with, "Tara".
To know more on the Tara project here it is a presentation we made on the project:

 -TARA PROJECT

Next class we planned the Questions to make to a responsible person of the project. Then we had a VIDEOCONFERENCE with MRS. SHARMA a responsible of the Tara project in India.

-What do you do?
The aim of the project is to make Indian society more equal, and we try to solve problems in India, as well as helping people to live in better conditions.

-Why did you start this project?
We thought the situation had to change, therefore, they decided to act.
How many people are working in it?
About 59 people are working in the office and about 1000 artisans doing the products.
How do you feel doing this?
In our opinion we are doing a really good job, because we provided better life conditions for people.

-What are the most popular products you sell?
The most popular ones are clothes, and other utility products.
-How do you make the distribution of your products?
We send the artisnal products to many countries such as Spain, Germany, Netherlands, United States, UK and New Zeeland.
-What is the aim of this project?
Basing on the fair trade, our aim is to work against explotation, we work in order to get medical and educational support to all the citizens.

-How do employees feel their life has improved?
As their life condition has improved relatively, they feel useful and better.
-What is the future of this project?
The future of it is to expand conciousness to all the inhabitants of the planet.

Once we made the questions, the people from "Emaus" suggested us a contest to finish with the workshop. We had to make a video about Fair trade, They had to be short, just 3 minutes long.
