Questionnaire results

This is the presentation of our work in "Arts and Sciences"
We explain the process we followed. After we discussed the subject of Arts vs, Science in our class, we decided to create a questionnaire to have a more general view.
We explain the way we made the questionnaire, step by step, then finally we analyze the results.

ARTS & SCIENCES

In our school we are very much interested in the relationship between Arts and Sciences (Humanities subjects and Sciences subjects). Are they enemies or allies? Do we like them or the opposite?

We decided to learn more about it. Read about it. Debate about it.
Ask our peers.

We want to know the opinion of our fellow students.
So we wrote some questions on the issue, and we decided to make a survey!
Click next link if you want to fill our questionnaire.

The Questionnaire.

SCIENCE HISTORY

We are going to learn about some important scientist.
The final product is going to be an essay comparing two of them:
Newton & Hubble.
In that piece of writing will be considered the Rubrick the teacher will use to grade the essay.
Here we have an example:
ISAAC NEWTON Vs. EDWIN HUBBLE

EVOLUTION

Here is our work on the Universe and Human Evolution.
We work in couples and each one chose a subject and prepared a Pecha Kucha and a speech about next themes. We had problems to record the speech so we add the written version.

World Café

We are ELOS!
Elos schools decided to organize a "World Café"
This a way to know each other and to discuss European issues. So we went to Vitoria-Gasteiz, to Lakua.
It was a great experience for everybody!!!
We will be adding a presentation with the results of the meeting.

Here is the presentation of the results, Click next link:

UNIVERSE & HUMAN EVOLUTION

In groups of two students, you will prepare a speech on one of the given subjects. It is going to be a short summary on a scientific matter, a threshold in our History. To help you with the speech you will be making a presentation in the Pechakucha version. So it will take exactly 6' and 40''.

First of all you look for the information you can search it in the net, school books... (It can be in Basque, Spanish or English). Then you need to prepare a draft with the main ideas, basic concepts you want to deliver to your fellow students. You need to make a clear and accessible explanation.

Once you have the speech you designate main ideas images with a number (you can use the same image twice if the subject takes more than 20 seconds).

Next you prepare the Pechakucha presentation (20 images, 20 second each)

With your clear ideas about your subject you start making the presentation. It is going to be a visual help for your speech on the subject.

Here it is:
 The Evolution Pechakucha

You prepare a final paper with key concepts to help you while delivering your speech.

Finally you rehearse the speech until it is under control.

Once we explain main ideas we can watch the original speech.

Science and Mass Media

We are going to consider the treatment Mass Media give to Science.
We will check the extent of tv interest in scientific themes.
Considering the tv programs that deal with the issue, we realized thet there is a recent interest in the subject with scientific divulgation programs like Punset's Redes or the more informal Orbita Laika.

A pioneer in Spain was Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente y su ya mítico programa "El hombre y la tierra".

Students will look for the way Newspapers deal with the subject completing a grid. Then they willcomment on the results.
