On April, 11 we had an activity with our ELOS fellow schools, a lecture about BREXIT at the university of the Basque Country (Laws department). Joserramon Bengoetxea guided us in the intrincate issue of Brexit. It was a pleasure listening to him, and made a clear exposition on the history and implications of Brexit in our lives.
After the lecture each class had decided what questions we would like to ask.
Also we made a Questionnaire on Brexit to pass it to our fellow students. So we will know about their impressions on the subject. To finish with some Kahoots about Brexit and the EU:

Eurodirect is located on Prim Street, 14, 2D, 20006 Donostia, Gipuzkoa.
We will go back to the challenge teams, you will write a storyboard on the origin of the challenge; Youngsters & FISH.
- We will start with a Pitch (concise presentation of the idea);
three lines: a presentation, a development and a conclusion.
- Then develop it in a short story
- Finally we have to think about the different filming techniques to shoot it, while writing a storyboard.
This time you will work in pairs, first of all you will look for a songyou like.
You should analyzethe lyrics, paying attention to the theme more than to the story, read between lines, hidden meanings... We have to understand its tone and its mood.
Then you will make a 'short film' to get us into the mood of the piece, more than into the descriptions. The aim of this essay is to understand the relationship between message and cinema.
Here you have an example with the song Space Oddity by David Bowie David Robert Jones (1947 –2016) was an English singer, songwriter and actor. He was a leading figure in the music industry and is considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, particularly for his innovative work during the 1970s.
"Space Oddity" is from . It was released July 1969 during a period of great interest in space flight. But it was inspired also in Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey
(1968), the song tells us about the launch of an astronaut into space.
Bowie would later revisit his "Major Tom" character in different songs.
When I saw that huge wheel in Alderdi Eder, inmediatly I thought it would match with Space Oddity. The idea of "floating in a peculiar way" and the images of the earth from above tangle up to my mind. Here is my version:
"Space Oddity"
Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills
and put your helmet on
Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown,
engines on
Check ignition
and may God's love be with you
This is Ground Control
to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule
if you dare
This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating
in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do
Though I'm past
one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much
she knows
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead,
there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you....
Here am I floating
round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do.
This time you will be completing an essay on another film, a Film you like. Again you will be following next steps : - to write the PITCH of your film - to apply the model proposed in "Every story is the same" to your film. - Prepare a short presentation where you will be adding:
the basic data of the film.
the plot, aspects you liked and scenes to point out.
technical issues, aspectsyou liked and scenes to point out.
personal recommendation.
The

- A middle class family and
their nanny's quiet life

- They confront the situation to recover a balance in their
life
The Story Pattern

ROMA
This a film directed by Alfonso Cuarón, two and a quarter hours of cinematic pleasure. ROMA is a 2018 movie produced by Netflix. The director Alfonso Cuarón also created “Gravity”, “Children of Men”, “Y Tu Mama Tambien” or Harry Potters and the Azkaban” This is the story of a family that lives in the neighborhood of Roma in Mexico City, and more specifically the camera follows Cleo, a young domestic worker starring Yalitza Aparicio. So ROMA is like a loving portrait of the woman who raised the director, his super-nanny and a complete mosaic of Mexico society during the 70'. Cuarón is telling us his own childhood and shows us their housekeeper’s ups and downs, the same time the relationship between the different social classes in Mexico and a touch of the political situation in DF during the (repression of the students ). With a simple storytelling is describing different people's lifes until we feel close to them, until we really care for the characters he presents us (Cleo, the mother, the other maid, the grandma...) This film is shot in black and white, because of its social and its title, Roma reminds us of the Italian neorealism of the 50’.It has beautiful photography, landscapes and domestic shots (in the roof of the house). Director’s filming is classical with a lazy camera that beautiful spots to shot, like the backyard of the presentation or the scenes of the father and mother car parking, which are antologic.
This is a film that you should watch if you miss your childhood!
